Well it's been in the works for some time...and we've finally put the finishing touches on the fishingporn.com SwagDen. Our e-commerce store is fully operational with an ever growing inventory of shirts, decals, signs and graphics. We are also working on adding flies, fly boxes as well a tubes, reels and other products. It's a work in progress so if you see something out of sorts, just let us know. Well a bit delayed as we've been busy around these parts but a final winner for the FishingPorn.com Shirt Photo Contest....Drum roll please.....DryFly17...A long standing member of fishingporn.com and a guy with the quintessential fishing photo, albeit, a little tongue-n-check...embracing all of those great qualities in a fisherman *Cough cough*. Well not really the finest qualities but when we saw this photo we all got a laugh.  DryFly has won a Custom Rybak Rod of his choice (weigh-wise) from Dallas over at RybakRods.com. Dallas will be in touch to connect and you guys can talk shop. Keep on the lookout for another contest...we've been kicking around the idea of doing another fishingporn.com shirt contest.  So I was browsing through my crackbook page (facebook) and Wahoo (member around these parts) had posted this young guys website...Tyler Befus (www.tylerbefus.com). He's a young kid who's parents got him into fly tying/flyfishing at an early age. Like many of you out there, I've got kiddos and have introduced them to fishing and specifically flyfishing. A couple of years ago. my daughter, 7, had gotten the fly tying bug from watching her old man so I've been trying to teach her some basic skills to introduce her to this craft.
After checking Tyler's site out and finding he's published a kids fly tying book as well as a fly fishing book, I decided to spend a few bucks at amazon.com (cheapest place I found and FREE shipping) and see if it might give my daughter more insite and education at her level. Well, the books came in yesterday and after breezing through them I am pleasantly surprised at the content and information that is spelled out in his books. The descriptions are very easy to understand for a youngster as are the diagrams and photos. Anyone looking to get a little helper to guide a youngster into fly tying and fishing, I highly recommend his books and site.

 We've all made it back to our various cities and towns after a memorable SalmonCamp09 on the banks of the Pere Marquette river in North Western Michigan. Our accommodations at Barothy Lodge didn't disappoint this year and much fun and mayhem surfaced on and off the river in the confines of the great Beaver Lodge (I know, great name for the lodge for our crew right?!) Check out PK's SalmonCamp wrap-up report in the forum. Maybe some others might jump in and spill some tails from the weekend.
