More pornage...just finished this one

This is built on an extremely full flex private label blank that I carry. Its a 6'6" true 2wt blank. The reel seat insert is a piece of lacewood coated with Threadmaster finish. Nickle Silver BUL5 hardware, custom grip with mix of Copano, natural and rubberized cork. thin wire snakes and inserted stripper with garnet (no CP) wraps and metallic silver trim.

Since this is a Tiger Eye Blank with Pink wraps...I dub this one "Pink Eye" I know I crack myself up sometimes


Anyway..this ones for a customers little girl. He wanted something pretty basic and on the low cost, but I always enjoy seeing kids get into fly fishing so I couldn't help but spruce it up for her. The seat is a piece of Cedar which has a bit of a pinkish rosey hue to it which I thought would match the pink theme of the rod. Nickle Silver hardware and Silver single foot guides. Then I took the grip size down a bit to fit her smaller hand better. Then added some hot pink NCP wraps with silver trim and a few other touches to make it personalized just for her.

Hopefully her&dad have some good times out on the water together with this one.

More Porn...

This one is a 9' 6wt 4pc Green woven Matrix blank. Silver&green woven Window style seat which I added the owners nickname to in the window of the seat. Grip is tapered down to flow into the winding check as per owners wishes. Wraps are Gudebrode Green&black Classic twist (CP'ed) with full metallic gold trim bands, and double foot chrome snakes. The butt section has the owners fly tying club Logo which I made for him and put under the finish.

The latest one done...........

This one is built with G.L Steelhead in mind. Blank is a Matte gray Rainshadow 10' 7wt 2pc blank. I used brown burl/natural.Copano/Rubberized/craft foam for the grip and matching butt. Hardware is Nickle Silver BUL5, insert is York Gum from Rob at "The Burl Source", silver guides, garnet wraps with silver trim and base layer of black thread under the inscription finish it out.

Latest one off the bench...........

This one is built on a nice crisp action Rainshadow 865-2 blank (8'6" 5wt-2pc). The blank is deep forest green in color, then the reel seat matches it with the woven green insert in the AW12 hardware. Grip is one I made using all exotic cork and brown burl cork so theres no natural cork in it. Wanted to keep this one clean and classy looking so I went with black wraps which I thought looked clean on the green blank and then added a real thin metallic silver trim band. Inserted stripper and single foot guides finish it out.

Here's a nice looking stick for steelies that a customer is giving to his brother whom he fishes with alot. Blank is the Olympic Green Rainshadow 10' 7wt 2pc. Wood reel seat on nickle silver hardware matched up to some custom grips and butt I turned using Brown burl cork/Copano/Burnt cork/Rubberized cork/black foam trim. Wraps are Black with Metallic Green and Metallic gold, SF guides, Titan framed gold inserted stripper. Then rather than just plugging the fighting butt I recessed a nickle silver cap into the end of it.
