Costa Del Mar Pescador Sunglasses I bought my first pair of wrap around fishing glasses 7 or so years ago. The first day on that trip I had a pair of non-polarized glasses. I couldn't figure out how all the guys in the boat could see all of these steelies swimming by. The next morning I bought a pair f $16 glasses at the fly shop and was amazed! I fished with them for many years and still have them, but have put them on the shelf for good (only as a backup pair) since I recieved a pair of Pescador glasses. These glasses are insain! The I am using the glass amber lenses. They are clear and clean well. They cut through the water and open up a whole new world of fishing. I often see the fish before they seem me (that's the whole point right?!) I have the Tourtise shell frames with a gray glass (The Pescador 580's).
From a construction standpoint, the earpieces fit well and are flexible yet keep the glasses on your face. I use a pair of the Costa Del Mar crockies as added protection ($7.00). I haven't figured it out if it's luck or design but I have had these for awhile, and dropped them several times...each time they've NEVER landed on the glass. They hit on the sides...or the bridge of the nosepiece. If you set them face down, they balance perfectly on the noisepiece without the lense touching the surface.
Snow, rain and shine, I have put these though the paces and have no complaints. They are on the pricier end but you'll probably burn through 4 pairs of $50 glasses in the lifetime of Costa Del Mar Pescador glasses (retail for $209).
The Costa Del Mar website is costadelmar.com
Check the site out. They have a variety of lenses available. I would recommend the 580 glass lenses over the plastic lense. There is a slght weight difference but the frames fit so well you'll never notice.
