Hey just talked to the crew here and came up with a few contests and some prizes for the upcoming fall Salmon/Steelhead/anything that bites season.
1. We are going to be having a photo contest which we'll start next week. So take those cameras and hit the rivers, streams and lakes in search of some great fishing porn. While we can't prove the date of the photos, we'd like them to be taken between Sept. 1 until the end date of the contest (still determing this) and we'll rely on the 'ol honor system. Once closing date has come, the staff will pick the top 10 photos, post them and we'll allow you the Fishingporn.com members to vote for the winner via a poll (we may open up the public voting for this one...we'll see).
2. We will, by popluar demand, be hosting The Sexy Bug Contest part Tré. We aren't french, just makes it sound even sexier. So when we say the word, break out the vice and make a bug that has some sexual feel to it, BUT it needs to be fishable. Don't cut out a nudie and glue it to a hook (you know who you are
). Flies will be judged on originallity, sexuality, and craftsmanship. This contest will likely begin sometime in Oct. Last Sexy Bug Contest was DryFly17 who won a custom etched flask. This will likely be the prize again.
3. Dallas, owner of
rybakrods.com (check'em out) and fellow founding member here at fishingporn.com has offered up a hand crafted steelhead fly rod as a contest prize. We are still ironing out what contest this fabuolous rod will be the prize for. We've talked about a general whoever has signed up for the site until XX,XX,XXXX (if we went this route this would cover existing members too so all would be entered) or it might be the prize for the Fall Photo contest. Dallas is in Poland for the month so I'll need to check and see what he wants to do when we have a chance to talk.
This is what we've come up with so far, so keep in touch and check back often...oh..and..send in your fishing porn! Anything submitted since Sept. 1 will be grandfatherd into the Fall Photo Contest.
