Dallas & Str8up on the PM? |
 The rumor around the office here is that Dallas and Str8up headed to the PM on Veterans Day. Again this is a rumor as we have no photo, no story just some fish tails about coho's and steelhead that have been spun in conversation over the last day or so.
Until we see some proof we've added a placeholder image. Hopefully we'll see some photos and maybe a story about the trip so we can replace these photos! Right?!

If we don't see any proof I'll be forced to keep them up. Oh ya, and BTW we are selling these signs.

UPDATED: On the Pere Marquette... |
 Headed out of town on Tuesday with PK for an early salmon outing. We kissed the wives and kids goodbye and made our way to the P.M. Had a great time on the way up talking about the anticipated stalk and the flies we tied.
Checked into the room at the Outdoor Inn and couldn’t get our gear on fast enough to hit the river. We hit the river at about 11:30 in the evening. The full moon made the night fishing enjoyable.
The basic idea I had of where to fish changed as soon as we made it to the spot. The water was too low for the holding pool I was thinking about. We made a few casts and then WHAM! This brown hit my Silver Bullet. He did some furious head shaking and bulldogging in the bottom of the pool. After PK took his time to put down the rod and get the net I had the brown to the surface waiting for his centerfold pictorial. |

Double team and threesomes... |

As we all wait for the waters too rise and cool off and the temperatures to drop, I am reminded of what seems like a fable in the tales of flyfishing in Western Michigan.
It was that time of year, late September to be exact. You know the day - bright and sunny but only reaching into the mid 60's; evenings down into the 40's! The water was up from a few weeks prior and had cooled a bit. A fresh rain had come through and a nice push of fish had made it's way up into the rivers. We had fished a lower section of one of our favorite rivers all day. We kicked up a few pods of Kings but really nothing would bite. After a long day of fishing and not even a fish scale to show for it, we headed back to camp for some food, beer and to evaluate the day. |

Fear and casting in Poland for Grayling |
 When I found out that we were going to Poland for sure I jumped on the Google train to find out about where to fly-fish. I few guides popped up here and there but I was looking for more information on rivers and access. I kept getting the one thing that I was afraid of, Polish langue websites. I had one advantage that my wife is a translator and could review the information. This process was to slow and I had to try something different. |

 The summer vacation is over an I have arrived back in Michigan. A bittersweet ending as we had a great time and I hated to leave but as the trip came to a close I realized that Salmon season is just around the corner!

Urgent Pere Marquette Environmental Assessment report |

A quick note: Hey all..sorry about the late notice...basically, there is a push to close the time we can fish as well as the amount of watercraft/anglers on the Pere Marquette throughout the year...Dallas has really hit the major points and constructed a great letter (see bottom of this story). Please put in your 2 cents and send it to (and yes this is the email address, very long, but correct):

Just a simple couple of lines or a more detailed email will work to let them know how you feel. If we don't put our comments in we have no reason to complain about it later. HA! Seriously, this will really affect our night fishing in the fall as well as any night fishing you do and basically will limit or fishing on the river. Also, the watercraft restrictions will really clamp down on our time on the river.
